My closest friend, Jennifer, is finally about to tie the knot with her longtime partner, Mark. We are a group of 5 fabulous friends who have been close to one another for more than a decade. Quite obviously, we all want to look our best for this wonderful day.
So, I would definitely want to wear the best dress of my life. My personal favorites are black or sage green bridesmaid dresses. However, I was really confused about choosing a good brand to buy this ‘all-important’ dress. I checked different brands and labels like Reformation, Lulus, and of course Azazie.
Now, I know there are lots of other great brands out there for bridal wear, but these came to my mind first. I chose Azazie for their affordability and easy shipping (that I heard), since I was also buying online. Also, to be honest, they had a wonderful collection, personally speaking. Moreover, they had a great price range.
Although they start from $69, the quality dresses are usually available from $90 onwards till $119 or more. I was very much ok with the price. I bought 2 dresses. A sage green dress and a black one. I’m expressing my personal views of the brand below.
Once again, I would like to make clear that these are just my personal opinions. However, they are also heavily influenced by what I saw and read about the brand elsewhere. So, combining everything, I hope I’ll be able to give a good idea of the brand.
Azazie Bridesmaid Dresses: My First Impressions
As far as first impressions are concerned, I was pretty impressed by the brand image of Azazie. They had this made-to-order look, and both the dresses fit me almost perfectly. However, there are some things that I really liked and other things that I didn’t.
Things I Found ‘Good’
- They had lots of choices. I loved the huge selection of dresses of different styles. I was particularly impressed by the great collection of bridesmaid dresses. So, all my friends had a higher chance of getting the dress that they wanted.
- I was amazed by the custom choices they offer. They provided a very impressive custom sizing option for their bridal dresses. I read their online reviews and found more people praising their custom-made dresses. It literally saves a lot of time, effort, and money
- Another thing I liked was their try-on feature at home. This is something that I didn’t use, but I did inquire about it from others and found it to be legit. One of my friends did try their sample dresses and was impressed as well.
- As I mentioned earlier, they are very budget-friendly. Their options under $100 are genuinely good. I found this out, as 2 of my really close friends also bought some of these dresses. So, it kind of cuts the wedding bills.
- They provide swatches for color matching. So that you can know the actual color of the dress.
- Personally, I think I got decent quality for the price I paid. Their bridesmaid dresses are at par with the quality standards that are there in the present market. I was quite happy with the sage green dress, but honestly, I was a little bit disappointed with the black bridesmaid dress.
Things I Didn’t find “Good’
- The shipping got delayed by a day. I was not expecting that. Then I went through some reviews online. I found that their shipping can get tricky sometimes. I saw a lot of shipping woes in the review comments.
- I didn’t have to deal with their customer service, but one of my friends (who’s not part of the bridesmaids) said she had a very unpleasant customer service experience with Azazie just a few days back.
- As I mentioned earlier, I thought the quality of my black dress was a bit ‘off.’ I found that if you look closely, their products do feel a bit ‘cheap.’ So, people may think about re-wearing them. However, I wish to wear them a little longer, but maybe not ‘forever.’
- I really disliked the fact that custom-sized dresses are mostly ‘non-returnable.’ So, if it fits you, it’s good, but if not, you’re stuck.
- They do provide you swatches, but there can still be slight differences in color. It means that the system is not perfect. You can face issues in this part of the process.
- I checked some more reviews to find that they can discontinue some of their dresses without prior notice. So, if you are looking to buy a dress later on, you may not find it when the ‘right time’ comes.
Should You Choose Azazie Dresses?
Are They Worth the Hype?
To be honest, I do think they deserve a bit of hype. They do offer some wonderful collections. Their pricing is quite good for the quality you get, especially if you are budget conscious. They are quite a good contender considering bridesmaid dresses.
The sizing and try-on features are not exactly perfect but work fine for me. These features are also available at quite affordable prices. So, it’s quite a practical solution for many of your dress-fitting woes.
Of course, you need to consider that you are buying online. So, there can always be some issues, as is the case many times with online shopping.
The customer services are not always great. Some of the reviews I read said that they can just tell you that no agents are available, so you need to call back. They do have a live chat, which I found to be quite helpful. However, I had a simple query regarding the delivery of my order.
The quality is satisfactory. Of course, if you look into the quality part too much and have ‘phenomenal expectations’, you’ll be disappointed.
So, the brand is not worth the extra hype but definitely worth a try. Chances are that you may find it pretty well suited for your needs.
To ‘Buy’ or ‘Not to Buy’
Now this is the tricky part. Upon reading the reviews, talking to some of my very knowledgeable friends, and finding out some things on my own, I can say you can go for it.
However, the brand is not without its major issues. The best thing that you can do is give it a ‘buy’ once and experience it yourself. I will not give you a complete ‘no’ for an answer. Azazie is an affordable and quite impressive brand.
It is a good option, but you need to also think about how big the wedding is. If you’re attending the biggest wedding of your life (next to yours, of course), then you may need to think twice. Because you need to consider whether you want to go for something affordable or something luxurious.
If you are looking for affordable options, then definitely Azazie’s bridesmaid dresses are at the top of the lot. However, I think there are far better options when it comes to luxury bridal dresses.
If you want luxury bridesmaid dresses, you can go for Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Carolina Herrera, or boutiques like Klienfield bridal, Mark Ingram Atelier, or Loho Bride. These are definitely better choices.
So, I would like to say it’s certainly a ‘give it a try’ brand and ‘you may like it.’ So, that all I have to say for now. Maybe I’ll review the brand again after some time.
Conclusion: My Personal Opinion
My personal opinion about the bridesmaid dresses for Azazie is that they are satisfactory for the price that you pay. The only catch is that you should not be looking for ‘top notch’ quality. However, that does not mean they have bad quallity but it may not be enough to meet your high expectations.
My closest friend’s special day is just round the corner, and I would like to wear the beautiful sage green dress that I bought from this brand. The color, quality, price, and fit, all matched my expectations well.
So, my first impressions about the brand were not bad. However, they do have some major issues regarding order delivery, customer service, return policies (in some cases), and discontinuation of some dresses.
Overall, they are a popular brand and a good choice for bridesmaid dresses. Personally, most of my expectations were met, and I only got cautious after reading some reviews. In the end, you need to decide how important a wedding is for you before buying the perfect dress to suit that special day.
